There will be plenty of smoke on the water this weekend at Burlington’s Spencer Smith Park as Canada’s Largest Ribfest fires up Friday.
The 16th annual farewell to summer will feature 18 ribber teams from across North America serving up more than 150,000 pounds of ribs to more than 100,000 visitors.
Admission is free, but don’t forget to visit your bank first. It’s an all-cash event, however ATMs are on site.
The four day event opens at 11 a.m. Friday, running until 11 p.m. throughout the weekend, closing at 8 p.m. Monday night. Last year’s event raised $250,000 for local charities distributed by the Rotary Club of Burlington Lakeshore. In the event’s lifetime, $2.3 million has been raised for local charities.
